Like many people across the world, staff and students at Graham School were unable to join together in person on Remembrance Day 2020 to honour the fallen.
Nevertheless, we were determined to show our respects and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. We presented a virtual assembly to all students and then wherever we were in school, we paused to observe the two-minute silence.
Principal, Emma Robins, said “The whole school community fell silent as students and staff took time to remember and reflect upon those who selflessly gave their lives during the First World War, and the continuing impact of conflicts around the world. It is important that we never forget, and even though we are living through strange times, we owe so much to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. It is vital that we help our students understand the past and encourage them to remember.”
